Our Leadership

Joe Suh

Lead Pastor

Pastor Joe, his wife Betty, and their two children are Southern California natives who have faithfully followed God's calling to Philadelphia. In the summer of 2024, Joe stepped into the role of Lead Pastor at Canvas City Church, embracing the opportunity to shepherd and serve this vibrant and growing community.

Joe's journey into ministry came later in life, answering God's call in his early 40s. In the seven years leading up to his transition to Philadelphia, he served as an associate pastor at the Church of Southland, Anaheim.

Now at Canvas City Church, Pastor Joe is committed to continuing the work God has begun in this city—leading the church into a new season of blessings, healing, and spiritual growth. Alongside Betty and their children, Joe feels deeply blessed to walk alongside the Canvas community, pointing people to the love and transformative power of Jesus.

Bryan Mun

Associate Pastor

Bryan grew up in the Bay Area, California, and attended UC Davis, desiring to become a mechanical engineer. His career path changed during his sophomore year when he sensed a calling into pastoral ministry. In 2017, he received his M.Div at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and a Master's in Formational Leadership at Capital Seminary in 2024.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing sports, reading books, and drinking a good cup of coffee. He and his wife, Jenn, welcomed their first child, Rylie, in December 2024.

Joy Kim

Youth Coordinator

Joy, a Delaware native with a degree in Human Services, is deeply committed to walking alongside young people in their journey with God. Currently pursuing her Master’s degree in International Educational Development, Joy is passionate about cultivating learning and helping students grow.

Beyond these passions, you can find her cafe hopping around Philly, doing DIY projects, and cooking for the people she loves.

Julie Lee

Preschool Coordinator

Julie's mission is clear: to create a safe and secure environment where preschool children can begin their journey of faith and get to know Jesus.

Her extensive experience of 30 years is a testament to her dedication to providing a nurturing space where children can grow, learn, and thrive in their early years. Her heart is in helping children not only discover the world around them but also develop a deeper understanding of their faith.

Julie has five children and one of her greatest passions is to feed people.

Our Founding Pastor

Pastor Eddie and his wife, Min, hail from sunny California. Pastor Eddie was ordained through Acts Ministries International and served as the worship pastor at the Church of Southland in Anaheim. In the fall of 2018, after nearly two decades of serving at the Church of Southland, Pastor Eddie and Min received the calling to plant Canvas City Church in Philadelphia. They felt that it was God's timing and obeyed. Under their leadership, many people came to both deepening faith and saving faith.

On December 16, 2023, Pastor Eddie went to be with our heavenly Father. Though Pastor Eddie is no longer physically with us, his legacy and heart continue to impact the people at Canvas and beyond.
